A Day at the Flea Market - 12 Sept 2009
It was a long day at the Enspired Bazaar in Subang Square, SS15 yesterday. We didn’t have enough sleep preparing for our booth. Luckily we booked the inside booth & the aircondition was working well.
We couldn’t call it a success: Only had 1 order for that 9 hours with 1 or 2 potential buyers who showed interest in our products. Situations like this do happen at times.
But we managed to show a sample to 1 of our potential customers who has been emailing enquiries even before the bazaar. We hope to close a deal soon. Besides that, we gave out flyers & also namecards to the visitors there (don’t know whether they keep them or just throw away haha).
Lessons learnt: We have to forecast the market first before opening a booth. Our t-shirts may not be suitable for the market there yesterday. They tend to go for fashionable items especially for ladies wear & accessories. So we need to make a better pick next time on which flea market that is more suitable for our products. We’ll be more prepared for the next one.
Promotion wise, we had done quite well because we have broadcasted our booth opening in Facebook, blogs, forums & classifieds. Look out for our next flea market ya.
